Welcome to the website of Delicata Designs, Independent Web Designers. What you see here is an overview of our services and talents as an independent Web Design company. This site is the test bed for us and the new technologies we learn. If they work here we then implement them into our clients sites.
This newly designed site is based on ideas taken from a book published by Sitepoint called HTML Utopia: Designing without Tables using CSS by Dan Shafer. It also includes ideas published at A List Apart.
If you are looking for a competitive and professional Independent Web Design service, Delicata Designs is for you. We can offer you the following services:
We are a small family company making a name for ourselves in the web design business. The team comprises just two of us. While one of us designs the sites, the other tests the sites for useability and aesthetics.
If you require something different or it is a large and complex request, we can subcontract work out to a close circle of associates. These are friends and colleagues that we know and trust to offer help with difficult jobs.
All our designs are hand coded for that personal touch. If you want something special, it can be done, but may take a little longer. Our approach is to offer a personal, friendly, professional service to all. In return, all we ask is for a small piece of advertising space on your site, (and the payment of course).
We test all the sites we design personally using a cross section of Web Browsers and currently use the following:
As you can see, they are not all well known browsers, but people use them so we have to make every effort to ensure that the site we design are accessible in these browsers.
Our prime objectives are to offer you a first class service and make your web site available to as many people as possible, no matter what browser they are using. To this end we use an organisation called Independent Testers, who test our sites across a range of platforms, screen sizes, configurations etc, and report back to us so that we can rectify any problems.
The name 'Delicata' actually comes from the Maltese side of my Wife's family. She used to breed and show Maltese dogs and Delicata was the affix she used for breeding and showing. It was also her Great Grandmothers name.
This site and all sites built by Delicata Designs, conform to standards laid down by the World Wide Web Consortium, (W3C).
